Who do you see as wingers on a 3rd line with Spoons? I think if he doesn't have someone else with speed with him, we will see him riding the bus back to providence, or jet-setting off to Phoenix via the waiver wire.
Sign him on the cheap, see what he can do over 82 games. I'm not entirely sold yet, tho i do think he was one of the bright spots and pleasant surprises down the stretch |

Will be interesting to see who slots into that third line. If the B's brass are telling Julien to refine his game, maybe the lines need to be reworked. Break up past parings like Lucic-Krejci and Marchand-Bergeron. Personally I liked what I saw from Looch when he was playing with pasta and spoons.
How about a new look kinda like this:
Marchand - Krejci - Connolly
Eriksson - Bergeron - Smith
Lucic - Spoons - Pasta
Talbot - kelly - Ferlin
I know, I know. Smith on the second line. He is a ghost anywhere else, and at least with bergy he has a chance to put up some numbers.
That fourth line could really be anything. I think talbot plays a good role and did a semi-decent job in front of the net. I really liked Ferlin's intensity and I think they should give him another look.
Plenty of Fresh signings and players like Griffith who have gotten a taste of NHL action in Providence that could be given another look if something doesnt work out.
Pretty much just spewing words at this point, what do you guys think?

I really liked what i saw from Ferlin at the end of the season there. It was a small window, but i think he'd be a great addition to that 4th line.
Connoly is such a wildcard for me. He seemed to be playing with a definite edge and with some jump in his step. The former seemed to lead to alot of time in the penalty box. I dunno, i dont think I can see him playing 1st line minutes unless he really comes out swinging in camp (or even gets signed, for that matter). |

Yeah. You could just as easy play Loui up on the first line. My thought was, we paid the price for him, give him a shot and see what he does with it. He did go to the box quite a bit, but maybe that was just him trying to be overly aggressive to try and make an impression? Who knows. Given the cap situation, I would be willing to give the guy top 6 minutes. |

Any word on how the Bruins will be addressing the paper towel shortage in bathrooms at the TD Banknorth Garden next year? - Atomic Wedgie
President Cam Neley is going to fire the head custodian and then spend the next month wussyfooting around. Then after some more (frank)ing around not accomplishing (frank) all, he'll hire his buddy, Jozef Stumpel as new Head Custodian.
Neely and Stumpel will immediately hold a press conference and reveal that both parties have no (frank)ing idea what they're doing and have no plans what direction the custodial department is headed.
When asked about the paper towel shortage, Stumpel stated They will keep their current custodians "for now".
More to come.

Slotting Connolly on the first line when we haven't even been able to see what he can do yet? Everyone seems to have a lot of confidence in a guy that has never really been a productive NHL player. There needs to be an addition to this forward group, because it will continue to struggle to score goals if left as is. I think Sweeney understands that. Sharp, Oshie, Belesky, etc. all availible

New update. The paper towel issue is ongoing. Until a solution can be found, Stumpel and Neely will *continue business as usual*

Never said I have a lot of confidence in him, was just one line idea. Connolly could just as easy slot into the second or third line, but I believe he was acquired to be given a shot at the top 6.
If we are making an addition, who are we trading away to make cap room for Sharp, Oshie, Belesky? |

Based on how they've fired the previous GM, the cap situation, and now they're dawdling around the coaching staff. What agent in their right (frank)ing mind would put this cluster (frank) of an organization anywhere near the top of their list? |

Even the lightning guys seemed sad to see him go, so maybe we stumbled blindly on to a good player. I agree he was maybe trying a little too hard to make in impression those few games, but i saw facets of his game i really liked.
Sometimes when a player, especially a new name, plays their first game with a team, around the cooler the next day:
"Hey did you see ( ) play lastnight? hmmm, no i didn't notice him, what number did he wear?"
That was not the case with Connolly. He had his presence known. "Hey, who was that dude that just smashed someone into the glass on the forecheck? it was the new guy. Cool." |

A lot of good things have been said about Connolly from Tampa. It seems as if they may have something good. I guess the history is he had an injury that slowed his progress and was passed by guys like Johnson and Palat making him expendable.

Well after a full season with the B's, I'm sure Julien will give him adequate time to prove himself. Maybe we have someone that can score some (frank)ing goals. |
